Kate We wanted to thank you and Alasdair for the great time we had at Glenuig the other week. The weather was not always favourable, (in fact we had quite an adventure when we got caught on the wrong side of the river during a flash flood) but it did not stop our party bagging munros and wild swimming in the glorious swimming pool. The peace of the place and the privilege of such private access to the hills and river was amazing. We also wanted to say how wonderful Matthew and Becky were, they really made our holiday easy and special. They were welcoming with a completely kind, flexible and “can do” attitude. We limped in with a problem that had just developed with our car wheel and Matthew had no sooner met us than he had the wheel off and fixed the issue while Becky came and chatted before we tackled the track. We had to change the arrangements for activities after our adventures in the flash storm but Matthew took it all in his stride and turned it into a positive. On our day of departure he helped us remove a punctured wheel and phoned ahead to a garage who fixed it. The photostalking activity proved a highlight of the entire holiday for our son and his friend. Matthew was exactly what they needed, friendly, energetic and enthusiastic with some fascinating chat about the estate and his work on shoots etc. Despite not having spotted many stags, he got them up the Glen then up on the high tops where they spotted 8 stags plus a golden eagle! He then took them and their bikes (so they could cycle back) up the track for some clay pigeon shooting. Just the perfect day for a pair of 16 year olds who were unusually chatty and full of news that night! We would love to return some day but meanwhile thank you. Kind regards Elizabeth on behalf of the Napier family.
Hello Kate Just to let you know we had a very enjoyable stay in superb weather last week in Glen Carron. It was an excellent base to return to each night for home cooked meal and entertaining evening at dining table/lounge. It was good to see decent recycling facilities too, so blue bin got well used and all glass dropped off at Achnasheen. I managed 8 Corbetts and 1 Graham in my 8 days of walking, Munroists had some excellent days out in the area also including nearby Moruisg, Maoile Lunndaidh, Sgurr Choinnich & Sgurr a’ Chaorachain
We had a fantastic 4 days and everything went according to plan. Even the weather! Our cook also turned out to be superb which was a great relief. The stalking was the stand out in the most amazing countryside and we had a excellent day with both Eric and Brian. They certainly have lots of energy! Many thanks for allowing the opportunity and there is a groundswell of opinion that we should return sometime next year or the year after!
Glenuaig is such a beautiful location that it feels a world away rather than a 12 hour drive! We had a wonderful relaxing week, enjoying the scenery and wildlife, with the deer round the lodge most mornings. We were so pleased to see a Golden Eagle on our last day as we walked back through the Glen. Eric came up to welcome us shortly after we arrived which was lovely
We had the most fabulous stay in Glenuaig Lodge! Transported back to a bygone era. Without a doubt, we will be back! Will also have a look at your other properties for when our party gets bigger maybe. But Roy and me are finding Glenuaig Lodge very hard to beat.
We had a lovely time, thank you - it was quite snowy, and wet at times, but we had some good walking and saw masses of deer (and eagles? on the way to your lodge - we assumed they were eagles circling over the rocks?) We had a really lovely time there-what a super place! Eric and Cathy were very welcoming too!

We are now back home after a great week in Glencarron. We managed to get out on the hills almost every day in spite of the wild, wet weather but limited ourselves to a train ride to Plockton on the day of Storm Doris. The Munro and Corbett baggers and canoeists all had a good week and there was lots to do for the less serious walkers. The lodge and the cottage were very comfortable; fabulous comfy beds and lovely bed linen. We enjoyed the open fires and it was great to be able to eat together in the large dining room. No one complained about there not being enough hot water either which made a welcome change! There was only one breakage - a coffee cup in the main lodge. we liked it so much that we would like to book both properties next year

Just a quick note to say what a great week we had in [the] Cottage, thanks. We were so lucky with the weather and a big thank you to Eric who looked after us well too. The location is ideal for exploring this beautiful area, and we did a mixture of walking locally to traveling as far as Skye enjoying some excellent food along the way. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped for all our requirements."
