Glencarron Lodge is a large 11 bedroom shooting lodge located in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Comfortably sleeping up to 18 this group and family friendly house is open throughout the year to welcome guests looking to escape to the Scottish wilderness. The house, which is also dog friendly, has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout to ensure its traditional roots have been maintained, yet it is a comfortable holiday home perfect for a long weekend or longer summer holiday.

The lodge has three double, seven twins (one of which can be a double) and one single bedroom, which share six bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite; two cots are also available for any infants. Downstairs Glencarron Lodge has a beautiful drawing room with open fire, where everyone can come together to enjoy relaxing evenings or celebrate a special occasion.

There is also a large dining room with table to seat up to 18, two games/childrens sitting rooms featuring a pool table and table tennis, where the youngsters can watch TV or take advantage of the WiFi.

The oak kitchen has been sympathetically modernised and includes an electric AGA, as well as a separate conventional cooker and a microwave, two dishwashers, three large fridges, a large freezer and a washing machine and tumble dryer.  Finally the lodge has its own very useful drying room and a gun room.

Drawing Room

The large Drawing Room is the first room guaranteed to capture your breath when entering Glencarron Lodge. The bright room with tall windows is magnificent and would not look out of place in a period drama. There are various sofas and armchairs for relaxing, and a large book case features some of the lodge's reading matter, including a book written by a previous owner, Lady Evelyn Cobold, who was the first british woman convert to make the pilgrimage to Mecca . The working fire place is a wonderful addition for colder months and helps keep the Drawing Room warm and cosy.

Dining Room

A long period wood table sits proudly at the heart of the Glencarron Lodge dining room, which has walls featuring some of the estates stags, shot in the past two centuries. Perfect for any occasion, but best for memorable dinners and special occasions, the dining room is bright and spacious and enjoys some of the best views of the estate.

Catering may be arranged if needed to help make celebrations even more special.

Kitchen

The bright and modern kitchen is a lovely place for preparing meals, and adds a contemporary touch to the otherwise classic, period shooting lodge. The solid oak units and tiled floors have timeless appeal and there are plenty of cupboards for storing food, as well as all the usual pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.

Modern appliances featured in the well-equipped kitchen, include three large fridges, a large freezer, conventional cooker with double oven and hob, microwave, two dishwashers, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. There are even a few features paying homage to the lodge's stately past, including the original servants call bells and a double Aga, as well as the conventional cooker.

Games Rooms

The games rooms at the lodge are where most of the young and young at heart are sure to gather with its snooker table and table tennis table providing plenty of entertainment for guests until the early hours of the morning.

Table Tennis and Children's TV Room

Hidden away from the main Drawing Room at the lodge is a more relaxed sitting room where teenagers and children will love to watch TV and play games. This spacious, yet very cosy lounge has lovely comfy sofas and armchairs perfect for curling up and watching a movie. It also features a table tennis table.

The Green Room Double Bedroom

The first of three/four double bedrooms at Glencarron Lodge has its own private entrance to one of the family bathrooms, meaning if wanted it could be an en-suite. The bedroom has a lovely feel with classic antique furniture and pretty floral wallpaper. The double bed with cast iron frame is very comfortable and an additional single bed allows the room to become a family room if needed.

Bathroom Ensuite

The Green Room's ensuite bathroom has a wonderful theme with shades of green effortlessly blending in with the wood floors and period dado rail. A large original fireplace also adds to the bathrooms ambiance, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a long hot soak in the re-enamelled original Victorian bath.

The Pink Room in the East WingTwin Bedroom*

A large window in the third twin bedroom on the upper floor of Glencarron sets a lovely scene when waking up as the sun rises above the hills. This cosy bedroom is nice and spacious, and features plenty of places for putting clothes and shoes. The Pink Room and The Dressing Room form a family suite with their own bathroom in the East Wing.

The pink room can be changed to a Kingsize bed if requested more than 2 weeks in advance.

The Dressing Room In the East Wing Double Bedroom

A second double bedroom has a large wardrobe and chest of drawers providing plenty of room for storing holiday attire. The bedroom also has its own very handy wash basin and towel rail. The Dressing Room and The Pink Room form a family suite with their own bathroom in the East Wing.

The Laird's Double Bedroom*

Traditional Scottish tartan features highly in this double bedroom. This pretty room for two has a nice comfy double bed, as well as some of the best views of the estate.

Her Ladyship's Twin Bedroom

There are seven twin bedrooms at the lodge, the first of these is the largest and has wonderful views of the Highlands, which are best captured from the comfort of the window seat. Two single beds with ornate wood frames and carved feet are very snug and a cot is also available in this room for any infants in the family.

The Bachellor's Twin Bedroom

Pale cream striped wall paper, tall windows and an original open fireplace make the second twin bedroom at Glencarron wonderfully elegant. The single beds are made with crisp, white bed linen and are great for snuggling up.

The Blue Room Twin Bedroom

The pretty third twin bedroom is perfect for adults or children with its two full size single beds with wood frames. Located on the top floor of the lodge, the bedroom's ceiling is slightly slopped giving the room a touch of character. There is also a cute window for admiring the views and an original cast iron fireplace.

The Harlequin Twin Bedroom

Another twin bedroom located on the top floor of Glencarron Lodge is tastefully decorated in shades of green, which nicely compliments the wood furniture. The room's high position allows the room to capture some of the best views of the estate and Scottish Highlands.

The Yellow Room Twin Bedroom

A fourth twin bedroom on the top floor of the lodge is lovely and bright with light wood furniture giving it a modern, contemporary feel. There is also a very pretty curved topped window, which provides a wonderful outlook when drawing back the curtains.

The Sweet Pea Twin Bedroom

The final bedroom at Glencarron Lodge is a very versatile room with two single beds, an additional day bed and a cot, this flexibility allows the room to be used by a variety of guests.

The Balfour Single Bedroom

This single bedroom is very cosy and ideal for any teenagers in the family, seeking a quiet room on their own. The quiet room is located on the lower ground floor of the lodge and has access to its own cloakroom. This bedroom also features a pull-out single bed.

The Loch Bathroom

A fresh blue theme is felt in this first floor bathroom that also has a large roll top bath with hand-held shower attachment. The bright and spacious bathroom is lovely and warm and cosy and perfect for families with children with the handy addition of a stool for sitting beside the bath. Of course, for adults the stool can also provide a great spot for placing a glass of wine or book.

Archie's Bathroom

The third bathroom can be found on the second floor, and is the largest, featuring plenty of original features including a curved window and wood floors. Like the other bathrooms, a re-enamelled original Victorian bath takes centre stage in the bathroom, and is neatly placed beside the window, where you can admire the views of the Estate. A separate walk-in shower is also featured in this bathroom.

Not pictured, a further three bathrooms can also be found in the lodge, notably the Fossil Bathroom on the second floor which has a roll top bath; the wing bathroom with shower over bath and the separate first floor shower room; providing plenty of alternatives to those pictured.

Garden

A riot of colour is on display in the Glencarron Lodge garden with its mixture of trees, shrubs and flowers. The views of the estate are truly magnificent with the peaks of the hills rising high in to the sky. Plenty of local wildlife can also be spotted from the garden, including soaring birds.

A fence surrounds the bottom of the garden at the lodge, preventing dogs from running off into the Highlands.

* Please note there are electric heaters in all rooms, each has its own thermostat and timer. Please ensure you speak to the estate stalker/houskeeper regarding use of the AGA and hot water.
